Our personalized education does not end with academics- we add a special component called Advisory to our Upper School programming. Advisory is specifically designed to be a “Home” for learners and a place where students can meet in a group or one to one with their Advisory teacher to discuss key issues they are facing academically, collaborate with peers in a group Project Based Learning consideration and be in that most integral of spaces- with their “class family”.
Advisory meets daily and gives Upper School students a place where they get help with projects, expert advice, meet in Boys or Girls Club for health discussions as needed and are engaged in a selected Social-Emotional Curriculum led by their Advisory teacher. The Advisory Teachers counsel students throughout the course of the school year. Advisors meet to plan social impact projects, Students Council and Mitzvah Projects and where students work on their individual projects, digital portfolios, where students can receive support on their academic progress, time management skills and set goals and reflect upon their personal growth and goals.
The Student Council also meets in Advisory as needed and is scheduled by the Student Council Head.
